1. The will mentions twelve Imams. Are you Shiites?

Narrated Jabir bin Samura: I heard Muhammad saying,

"The (Islamic) religion will continue until the Hour, having twelve Caliphs for you, all of them will be from Quraysh."

(Sahih Muslim : Book 020: Number 4477ff)

The followers of Ahmed Al-Hasan (pbuh) take their knowledge from Prophet Mohammed as well as his progeny.
We believe that Prophet Mohammed (pbuhahp) has 24 successors, that follow him one after the other.
As shown above, the first of his twelve successors are mentioned in a narration that is included in the Sahih Muslim collection. The other twelve successors are mentioned in the will of the Prophet Mohammed (to read more about it, click here).

We take our knowledge from these successors, as they are the door to Prophet Mohammed’s wisdom and teachings. The Prophet himself commanded us to adhere to them:

"O’ people! Behold! It seems the time approached when I shall be called away (by Allah) and I shall answer that call. Behold! I am leaving for you two precious things. First of them is the book of Allah in which there is light and guidance...The other one is my Ahlul-Bayt. I remind you in the name of Allah about my Ahlul-Bayt. I remind you in the name of Allah about my Ahlul-Bayt. I remind you in the name of Allah about my Ahlul-Bayt. (three times)."

(Sahih Muslim, Chapter of the virtues of the companions, section of the virtues of ‘Ali: V 4, p1873, Tradition #36.)

Still we are not part of the sect that is commonly called the ‘Shia’ (meaning we are not part of ‘the Twelvers’) and we do not agree with many of their controversial practices, like the cutting on Ashura or the public insulting of the wifes or companion of Prophet Mohammed (pbuhahp).

Therefore nobody should refrain from researching the call of Ahmed Al-Hasan based on old misconception about ‘the Twelvers’.
