1. Is Ahmed Alhasan mentioned in the narrations? And if so, what is he called?

Ahmed Alhasan is mentioned in both Sunni and Shia narrations.

In both of them he is called “the Yamani”. According to the narration his banner is the only guided banner before the rise of the Mahdi (pbuh):

In the Books of the Sunnis:

The Prophet (pbuh) said:

“So while they get together and discuss who they should pledge allegiance to they hear a call not from a human nor from a Jinn: 'Pledge allegiance to so-and-so [by his name], he is not from that such of people or this, rather he is a Caliph, who is a Yamani.’”

(Kitab Al-Fitan by Na'eem Al-Maroozi: P.241)

In the Books of the Shia:

Imam al Baqir (pbuh) said:

"There is no banner better than that of the Yamani, it is the banner of faith and dedication, because he calls to your possessor. So if the Yamani comes out, selling weapons to people or any Muslim becomes prohibited, and if the Yamani appears, stand up to him, because his banner is the banner of faith. It is prohibited for any Muslim to turn away from him, and who ever turns away from him, then he is from the people of hell. Because the Yamani calls to the truth and to the right path."

(Al-Ghaybah - Mohammad Ibn Ibrahim A' Noâmani p. 264.)

Furthermore, Ahmed alhasan is the successor of Imam Mahdi (pbuh) that is mentioned in the will of the Prophet Mohammed (pbuhap) (To find out more about this will, click here).

The Prophet of Allah (pbuhap) said:

"If you see the black banners from Khurasan, go to them even if you had to crawl over ice. For among them is the successor of the Mahdi."

(Malahem Wal Fitan, p.53)

2. What is Ahmed Alhasan’s rank?

Ahmed Alasan is:

1. The prophesied Yamani

2. The grandson of the Mahdi (pbuh) and his first successor

3. The first of the twelve Mahdis, that will rule the State of Divine Justice

3. Twelve Mahdis? I thought there is only one Mahdi?

The word “Mahdi” means “the Guiding One”. It is a title and can therefore be used for more than one person.

The Prophet and his progeny mentioned several times that there will be more then one Mahdi.
There is Mohammed ibn Al-Hasan Al-Askari, the twelfth Imam, who has a special role in establishing the Divine State of Justice. And there are his twelve successors, who are sons of each other, that will rule the state of Divine Justice after him.

Imam Ahmed al Hasan (pbuh) is the first of these twelve successors.

In the books of the Sunnites:

Umdat al Qaree Sharh narrates that Bader al Deen al Ayni al Hanafi said:

"It is possible that there will be twelve after the Mahdi that will emerge in the end times[...]"

until he said:

"And then after him his son will rule, and so with that there will be twelve kings, each one of them is an Imam Mahdi. And from Ka'ab AlAhbar, there will be twelve Mahdis and then the Spirit of Allah will descend and kill the Dajjal."

(Tafseer son of Abi Hatem: Hadeeth #13730.)

Tafseer Abi Hatem narrates that Ka'ab al Ahbar said:

"They are twelve, and when they all pass away, there will be twelve similar to them replacing them, and that is a promise from Allah to this nation and he read:

'Allah has promised, to those among you who believe and work righteous deeds, that He will, of a surety, grant them in the land, inheritance (of power), as He granted it to those before them'

And that is the work of Bani Isra'el."

(Ibn Abi Hatem al Razi: Volume 8, Hadeeth #2628.)

In the narrations of the Schiites:

Imam al Sadiq (pbuh) said:

”From among us, after the Qa’im, there shall be twelve Mahdis from the descendents of al Hussein (pbuh).”

(Ghaybat Al Tusi, page 385.)

And Imam Sajjad (pbuh) said:

“The Qa’im will appear from among us and after him there will be twelve Mahdis.”

(Sharh Al-Akhbar 3/400)

Another indication is a statement in the prayer, that Imam Reza (pbuh) commanded to be made for Imam Al-Mahdi (pbuh):

“O Allah, Give him and his family and his son and his progeny and his nation and all his subjects what You please him with. And give him the kingship of all kingdoms […]”

until he says:

“O Allah, bless the successors of his era and the Imams after him and reach to their hopes and make their livespans longer and dear their victory[…]”

(Mosbah Al-Motahajid by Sheikh At-Tusi, page 409.)

It is important to note at this point, that the 12th Imam Mohammed ibn Al-Hasan (pbuh) is higher in rank then all his twelve successors.

4. How come no one ever knew that the Yamani will be the successor of the Mahdi (pbuh)? Why did nobody make this connection before?

Abu Jafar (pbuh) said:

“And the Mahdi is called the Mahdi (the Guiding One), because he guides them to a hidden matter.”

(Ghaiba Al-Nu'mani, p. 243.)

Allthough many scholars have tackled the issue of the Yamani, most of their research work was either brief or ambiguous, and the researchers were not able to combine between narrations and decipher the codes in the right way. Yet, their failure in achieving that was not out of negligence. It was Allah’s wisdom that the issue of the Yamani would remain ambiguous until the right people came along, by that it was kept from being claimed by those who would claim what is not theirs.

The Imams (pbut) presented the cause of the Yamani in a symbolic and disordered way in dozens of narrations on purpose; First to hide it from the enemies, second to

avoid the rise of allegations of it being a lie, and thirdly, so that it be only clarified by the true Yamani.

In other words, the issue of the Yamani is similar to a puzzle divided into a hundred pieces, each piece of which is hiding within the folds of a book. Thus, the researcher needs to look for all those pieces and gather them from the books in order to get the whole picture. It is a hard and strenuous task that requires divine support and directing.

Malek al Jihni said to Abu Jaafer (pbuh):

"'We describe the companion of the matter with a description that not one of the people have.'

So he (pbuh) said: "No by Allah it will not be that at all, until he holds it as a proof upon you and calls you to himself.'"
(Ghaiba lilNu'mani: P.337, Door.22, Hadith.3)

6. If he really is the son of the Mahdi, why does he only have so few followers?

Allah says in the Quran:

But you will never find in the way of Allah any change, and you will never find in the way of Allah any alteration.

(Sūrat Fāṭir (The Originator):43)

And if we look at the stories of the Prophets and Messengers (pbut), we see that all of them had only very few followers.

Like the Prophet Noah for example, about whom we read in the Quran:

[So it was], until when Our command came and the oven overflowed, We said: 'Load upon the ship of each [creature] two mates and your family, except those about whom the word has preceded, and [include] whoever has believed.' But none had believed with him, except a few.

(Surat Hūd (Hud):40)

In fact Allah declares this to be a general rule that applies in every age.

"And if you obey most of those in the earth, they will lead you astray from Allah's way; they follow but conjecture and they only lie"

(Surat Al-'An`ām (The Cattle) : 116)

So we conclude that the small number of Ahmed Al-Hasans followers is rather an argument for then against him.

5. So many people pretend to be a messenger of God. Why should I believe in Ahmed Alhasan particularly?

Because of the proofs he brings forth and some of the proofs are:

  • The Will of the Prophet (Click here)

  • The Narrations of the Ahlul Bayt (Click here)

  • The Divine Knowledge (Click here)

  • The Guidance (Click here)

  • The Mubahala (Click here)

  • Dreams and Revelations in which the believers saw prophets and messengers (Click here)

  • Miracles (Click here)

  • Matters of the Unseen (Click here).

And to those for who this is not enough, Ahmed Alhasan says:

“The shortest way to believe in the Unseen is the Unseen. Ask Allah after fasting for three days and begging by the right of Fatima, daughter of Muhammad (pbuh), that you get to know the truth from Allah through visions during sleep or wakefulness, or by any prodigy of His (swt) kingdom’s unseen prodigies.”

7. Do you believe that everybody who does not follow Ahmed Alhasan goes to hell?

Allah is the decider over heaven and hell, so it is not upon us to judge anyone.

But we call the people to follow the Caliph of Allah, and learn from him and prepare for their reunion with their Lord.

Furthermore, we want to remind everyone again of the narration by Imam Baqir (pbuh) that states:

"There is no banner better than that of the Yamani, it is the banner of faith and dedication, because he calls to your possessor. So if the Yamani comes out, selling weapons to people or any Muslim becomes prohibited, and if the Yamani appears, stand up to him, because his banner is the banner of faith. It is prohibited for any Muslim to turn away from him, and who ever turns away from him, then he is from the people of hell. Because the Yamani calls to the truth and to the right path."

(Al-Ghaybah - Mohammad Ibn Ibrahim A' Noâmani p. 264.)

So the matter of pledging allegiance to the Yamani is serious and not to be taken lightly.

8. Can I see Ahmed Al-Hasan? Is there a picture of him?

No, there is no picture or video of Ahmed Al-Hasan available.

Before 2007 Ahmed Al-Hasan’s door was open for everyone to visit him. After that, his house was attacked by Iraqi military forces and he had to leave together with his wife and children. Ever since then he is in occultation and his location is only known by those close to him.

Ahmed Al-Hasan writes about what happened to him:

“All that which I owned was a small agricultural piece of land that I bought on the borders of Najaf to live in it. Also I built in it a very small house as consolation for the poor. I said as long as I live in Iraq, I will live like the poor ones live. And perhaps the day will pass and you will see this house one day. [...]

Anyway, I left this piece of land in 2007, together with my wife and my children, just hours before it was attacked by military forces which follow the religious sholars and were investigating on their behalf. When they did not find me they seized the land and placed guards in it. And after a while these guards left it. How similar is it to Fadak! And how similar are their ugly actions to the actions of those who attacked the house of my mother Al-Zahraa' (pbuh).”

9. Why does Ahmed Alhasan not appear on TV? Why is there no picture of him? If he would appear on TV more people would believe in him.

Ahmed Alhasan answered this question:

“And do you think that the simple appearance of a person on a video tape that says that he is the Mahdi ends everything and that the people will believe his saying and those who deny the Mahdi will believe in the Mahdi?! Have you read the Qur'an?? And have you heard of a Prophet called Noah? Do you know how long he called his people and do you know how many of them believed in him?? And have you heard of Abraham and Moses and Jesus and Muhammad (pbuhahp)? Do you know how much they suffered from the people who wiped their insights in the substance and this worldly life??”

In this answer Ahmed Alhasan (pbuh) clearly refers to the before mentioned verse:

But you will never find in the way of Allah any change, and you will never find in the way of Allah any alteration.

(Sūrat Fāṭir (The Originator):43)

There are many proofs for the truthfulness of Ahmed Alhasan (pbuh) and those who have eyes to see will believe in him without a video tape.

10. I don’t understand why the messenger of the Mahdi (pbuh) has to hide…?!

This is not the first time in the history of Allah’s religion that one of His Messengers has to hide.

When Moses (pbuh) killed one of Pharaoh’s soldiers he fled the palace and hid for 11 years,

So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. He said, 'My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people.'“

(Surat Al-Qaşaş (The Stories) : 21)

We should also remember the famous story of Prophet Mohammed (pbuhahp) running from Quraysch in the middle of the night from Mekka to Medina.

11. There is so much injustice in the world. What is Ahmed Alhasan doing about that?

Ahmed Alhasan is preparing the Muslims spiritually for the rise of the Mahdi (pbuh).

Did you never ask yourself how the Army of the Mahdi (pbuh) will gather overnight?

It is obvious that there has to be some kind of preparation for the Mahdis soldiers.

Therefore the Muslims need to find their way back to Allah and increase in sincerity, to be able to support the Mahdi in spreading justice on Earth.

The importance of this mental preparation can be understood from the story of David fighting Goliath.

Ahmed Alhasan writes in this regard:

So they defeated them by the permission of Allah , and David killed Goliath, and Allah gave him the kingship and wisdom and taught him from that which He willed. And if it were not for Allah checking [some] people by means of others, the earth would have been corrupted, but Allah is full of favor upon the worlds.

(Surat al-Baqarah (The Cow):251)

David, the youngest of his father’s sons — his father raised him to herd sheep and he was not even counted among the soldiers — and the slingshot used to throw the stones, none of the people thought that they would be the ones to end the battle. The number that was not counted (David), and the equipage that was not considered by the people (the stones) were the entire number and equipage according to Allah. The stone that the builders rejected became the cornerstone.

Those are the accounts of the people, and this is the account of Allah (swt). People see the material and the bodies, whereas Allah looks at the spirits and sincerity. He (swt) looked at the sincerity of this favored boy, David (pbuh), so He tied him to victory. And what a significant lesson it is for those who were with Saul (pbuh), who were the ones to give a great weight to the materialistic reasoning, so when

Their prophet said to them: ‘Indeed, Allah has sent to you Saul as a king,’ they said, ‘How can he have kingship over us while we are more worthy of kingship than him and he has not been given any measure of wealth?’ He said: ‘Indeed, Allah has chosen him over you and has increased him abundantly in knowledge and stature. And Allah gives His sovereignty to whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.’”

(Surat al-Baqarah (The Cow): 247)

And when they saw the number and equipage of the army of Goliath:

They said: 'There is no power for us today against Goliath and his soldiers.'

(Surat al-Baqarah (The Cow): 249)

In this significant lesson, Allah (swt) showed and with action and in the battlefield that the materialistic reasoning has no value before the sincerity to Him (swt). So He (swt) faced the massive army of Goliath, that was equipped with the most modern and deadliest weapons at the time, with the sincerity of David (pbuh).

And today, we are in such great need for this significant lesson in order to learn the meaning of sincerity and reliance upon Allah (swt), without having the [materialistic] calculations that stand [only] on the earth stop us from confronting Satan and his soldiers.”

12. Why doesn’t he speak english? Why are all his books in arabic?

Ahmed Alhasan (pbuh) writes:

“Why didn’t the Messenger and the Imams (pbut) translate the Quran? Are Muhammad and the Imams miserly for example — and they are far above that?! Or is translating the Quran, which the non-Arabs desperately needed, an act that defies wisdom? Or were the nearly two hundred and fifty years not enough for the Messenger and the Imams for translating?!”

So the answer is, that a person’s fluency in hundreds of languages is an apparent miracle and a complete established proof throughout all times.

And a proof like that contradicts the idea, that we are being tested in this world, and that one of the things that Allah requests from the believers is faith in the Unseen.

Those who believe in the unseen and perform the prayer, and expend of that we have provided them ...

(Surat Al-Baqara (The Cow): 3)

13. Why does he not present a miracle if he is really the Messenger of the Mahdi (pbuh)? Then people would believe in him…

14. I think Ahmed Alhasan has bad motives, he just wants fame and money!

Ahmed Alhasan answered to these kind of accusations:

“I do not think that the one who asks for glory would take the path that I have taken. For before this call I was isolated and now I am more isolated and homeless in the Land of Allah, me and my children. [The tyrants have done to me] what they have done to my fathers the Imams (pbut). And I have a good example in them, for truth does not leave any friends for its possessor, except for Allah (swt).

From the most beloved people to my heart is my mother whom I was never separated from, not even for one day before this call, [until] I was forced to separate from her until she died while I was away from her and I have not said farewell to her.

So would the one who is asking for this world take such a difficult sorrowful path and drink pain and grief?!

And I do not think that the one who is asking for money would put a House of Funds for the believers in every country and a system of accounts and known places for withdrawal and spending in order that every amount that enters the House of Funds be recorded and every amount that goes out be recorded. And the representatives that receive the Khums are known, like Sayyed Hassan Al-Hamami, and Sheikh Sadiq Al-Muhammadi, and they do not send it to me nor do they keep it to themselves, rather, they hand it in to the House of Funds, and the House of Funds distributes it upon the poor people and the needy ones and the orphans and the widows and the students of knowledge and others, even from the ones who do not believe in this call.

I do not own any extra personal money than what I need for daily living and the rent of the residence that I cover my family under...”
